What side do the numbers go on tonight?
On the first race of the season, April 18th, 2011,  numbers will be on the “Right Side (clockwise direction)”, and we alternate each week. Please see registration or officials if any questions on visibility of your race number. If we can not see your number on the photo finish you will not be placed. Thanks for understanding.

How do the points system work?
Finish points are awarded 10 deep in each race. “Hot Spot” points are awarded 3 deep for intermediate sprints in some races. Final points and Hot Spot points are totaled for each rider for the night. Nightly points are totaled at the end of each month and prizes awarded to the top 3 racers in each category.

Finish Points:
1st place: 15 points
2nd place: 12 points
3rd place: 10 points
4th place: 8 points
5th place: 7 points
6th place: 6 points
7th place: 5 points
8th place: 4 points
9th place: 3 points
10th place: 1 point


Hot Spot Points:

1st place: 3 points
2nd place: 2 points
3rd place: 1 point


What is Oregon Bicycle Racing Association (OBRA)?

OBRA is assists in promoting bicycle racing in Oregon by developing calendar of event, providing insurance and equipment rentals to organizers and many more services that make bike racing in the state some of the best in the country. It is run by a group of volunteers, so keep that in mind when at events, etc. See more info at: www.obra.org

Monday Night Racing is run by Team Oregon, an open team that accepts new members of all skill levels year-round.

I think I have enough points to upgrade and want to move up, what should I do?
All upgrades need to be approved by OBRA. Racing in another category that is not on your license could result in disqualification. See these rules about upgrading, OBRA upgrade rules

Are Aero bars allowed for the event?

No, please remove aero bars or similar devices that extend past the brake levers/hoods on your bars. For mass start events you cannot have any sort of aero type bar, however for individual time trial events you may. PIR is a mass start event.

Are helmets required for PIR races?

Yes, a well fitting CPSC/ANSI/SNELL helmet must be worn once you are on your bike on the PIR grounds, even in parking lot. Thanks for your cooperation.


OBRA and the organizers of this race do not provide insurance coverage for injuries that occur at the race. The costs related to those injuries are the responsibility of the individual participant.
