Nightly Scoring Details

Posted by Adam on Thursday, 24 June, 2010

Someone asked recently how each individual night breaks down for points scoring, so I figured I’d share with everyone.

For all the fields, the finishing points breakdown is:

1st – 15 points
2nd – 12 points
3rd – 10 points
4th – 8 points
5th – 7 points
6th – 6 points
7th – 5 points
8th – 4 points
9th – 3 points
10th – 2 points
11th – 1 point

For all the races that include hot spot laps (the novice races do not), the placing points are as follows:

1st – 3 points
2nd – 2 points
3rd – 1 point

Points are totaled  for each race to determine placing, and the riders that did not score any points are placed based upon their finishing order after all the riders that scored points. The nightly points are added to determine cumulative monthly winners, and that’s what we award prizes on.

Speaking of the prizes, each month we give away prizes to the top 3 riders in each category:

1st – Castelli Winners Jersey, Laurelwood Gift Certificate, River City Gift Certificate
2nd – Laurelwood Gift Certificate, River City Gift Certificate
3rd – Laruelwood Gift Certificate, River City Gift Certificate

Thanks again to all our great sponsors for providing the prizes!
