2010 Reports from Oregon Cycling Action:
Monday Night PIR is organized promoted, and run by the Team Oregon Elite Team.
Since the 1980s, Team Oregon has been one of the premier amateur cycling teams in the state of Oregon. Team Oregon is a completely open team with very basic requirements for membership. We accept new members off all abilities year-round and want to provide a great atmosphere for everyone interested in racing. We currently have a very active roster of cat 4/5 racers, cat 3 racers, and cat 1/2 racers, and we’re looking to grow our masters, juniors, and women’s teams this season and into the future.
Team Oregon’s Saturday ride leaves every Saturday at 9:00 from Liberty High School in Hillsboro rain or shine. If you’re interested in joining the team, show up for a ride or approach us at a race. We’re happy to share more about the team with you.
Beginning during the 2009 racing season, the team put in place plans to begin and grow an elite team of riders that would be competitive both locally and on a national level. Team Oregon wants to see the elite team grow into the best ground-up developmental team in the state, allowing up-and-coming racers to live up to their full potential as bike racers. Funds raised from PIR racing go to supporting these racers and ensure they have the ability to travel to races.
